HARMONIC MINOR

HARMONIC MINOR
The Harmonic Minor scale is a variation of the natural minor scale, created by raising the 7th degree by a half step. This single change gives the scale its distinctive, exotic, and dramatic sound.
In the first two diagrams, the Harmonic Minor scale is shown using 3-notes-per-string shapes to create consistent and easy-to-visualize patterns across the fretboard.
You can alter or refinger these shapes in any way you prefer—as long as the interval structure stays the same, the scale remains Harmonic Minor regardless of the exact fingering.
