ADD9 CHORDS

Add9 CHORDS
This section shows the conventional add9 chord shapes commonly used on guitar. Add9 chords are built by adding the ninth to a major or minor chord, without removing the third, giving them a bright and spacious sound.
Some of these shapes use open strings and remain position-specific, while others can be moved. Understanding the shape and its intervals helps you apply add9 chords in different musical contexts and connect them to related chord forms across the fretboard.
Add9 chords are widely used in pop, rock, and acoustic music to add color and depth to familiar progressions.
